  • Want to take my deck boat off the trailer safely

    Hey Guys,

My wife's deck boat sat in Lake Anna for a few months and is discustingly covered with oil and algae. Brown algae at that, so it's a disgusting color mixed in with black.

I got some Hull Cleaner some grime cleaner from Anna Point Marina. Wanted to try some of the Aurora products, but gotta go with what's available. Yet, the blue lysol toilet bowl cleaner 50:50 with peroxide is tempting. With any of these, I worry about the corrosive aspect on the aluminum/galvanized trailer and the carpet bunks.

We have 3 boats that need periodic cleaning, so I'm thinking about the Brownell gadget and boat stands. Rather find low cost used, but the don't seem to exist.

Anyone have experience trying to take the boat off the trailer for cleaning as in DYI rather than the $20-30 a foot fee at the marina? Fortunately I don't leave my boat in the water as my Mrs. does.

    Advice and/or experiences welcomed.

Make a trip to any of the marina storage areas and take note of how they block them up. Old tires, wood blocks, big chunks of Styrofoam are a few I have noticed.
