  • Bunk Boards

Hey Guys- I need some help in replacing bunk boards on my trailer. I'm in Harrisonburg and need to find someone who can do this repair job. 2 boards are 10' and 2 are 7'. They appear to be 2 x 6 pressure treated with carpet. I would like to find a place where I can take the boat and trailer, off load the boat and take the trailer in for replacement bunks the same day. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

There are several on here who have done this themselves, including myself. Measure your boards, and buy new ones. Then buy the marine carpet online and glue and staple them. Once completed, take your boat to the lake, float it, and change out the boards.

It can take a little time, but its a fairly easy repair.

Leewood probably has the best location for doing this with you being in Harrisonburg. Shenandoah is not a bad place to do this if you do it early in the day now you probably won't have many people around. like Erik said it is an easy fix and with a few battery tools not a bad job. If he can do it i am sure you can................

We are told that we shouldn't judge all Muslims by the actions of an extreme few. Why can't we offer millions of law-abiding American gun owners the same consideration?

Thanks Guys- I already got the job done- Andy got me the pressure treated boards, got carpet at Lowes. Had to go online for Glue and those Monel staples. I did all the carpeting in my basement then hauled the boat to Shen Valley Marine in Greenville. They have a crane to lift the boat and mounted the boards the same day. You guys are just a lot more handy than I am. I don't own a battery drill/driver, so I didn't think too much about doing it at the ramp. Now I'm back in the fishing business if I can just finish mowing, blowing leaves and the Honeydew list..........

I'm doing mine now. Bass cat double carpets their bunks. A four inch strip of carpet gets glued to the face of the board as a padding. Then wrap and staple the primary carpet on and it's done.

Wish I had thought of the extra 4" strip as padding.
