  • Buddy needs help

I have a friend who has a 28hp Evinrude jet prop that he's been having problems with. The motor turns over strong and starts but cuts out every time you try and put it in gear, even if u let it just idle it may run for 2-3 minutes then stall out. He's had it looked at up here in the valley but they just clean the carb and tell him it's fixed. Anyone know of a good evinrude mechanic that's trustworthy? I think it's a fuel pump issue, but i'm just guessing by the way it acts. HELP!!!

Third on the fuel filter and I would also look at the fuel lines. E-10 fuel causes havoc with fuel lines, filters and fuel systems in general. Your buddies problem could be a lot of things but rule number one. Go with the simple, logical, and cheapest solutions first ie. fuel filters, check the internal condition of the fuel lines etc.
