Sonar with GPS. I'm like Larry, haven't used mine in years, sometimes the needle actually moves a little, freaky. I have a paddle wheel pickup connected to my Lowrance but because of where it was mounted it's not in the water on plane. I normally watch my RPMs and the feel of the boat and really don't care much about the speed, I'll get there when I get there. When you change props it's a good indicator of what you lost or gained in speed/RPMs.

Same with them. If I want to know my speed, I'll look at my GPS. Gave up on the boat indicator long ago.

I just have the basic HDS-5. Nothing special, but it works good enough for me.

Yeah, you can get some quality GPS and fishfinders nowadays for very good prices. Just do a little research and figure what you need and your budget and go from there.

I use a tiny drill bit to clean mine. Happens all the time on the river not so much at Anna.

there is a nice lowrance gps/sonar..in a small width(like the one that came on my 11 tracker) that goes for like 250ish i think. i dont have any personal exp with hbird but folks here speak highly of those also...
i had an issue with my transducer for my elite 5 and had a new one ups'd next day to me from lowrance...no issues at all..

My speedo hose( merc 150 efi) between the outboard and trim cylinder kept coming off so I crazy glued it back on. I always thought the hole was clogged untill I replaced the lower unit. Something to check

on the tracker that has a 60HP 4 stroke i don't use the speedometer per say i use it to tell when i have grass over the water intake. When the speed drop quick while i have not moved the throttle it is time to stop and clean grass. If you pay attention to it you catch it early before the motor starts to overheat at all.

We are told that we shouldn't judge all Muslims by the actions of an extreme few. Why can't we offer millions of law-abiding American gun owners the same consideration?
