  • Anybody fishing during the solar eclipse

We all know how much the moon phase plays in effect when it come to fishing. I was wondering if anybody went fishing today and what did the experience? What are your thoughts on how the fish would act today?

Floated the upper S. fork of the Shenandoah with my son, we ended up with 60-70, mostly smallmouth. We were in a typically unproductive stretch of the river during the peak of the eclipse, so I couldn't tell if it made a difference.

Was a good day over all though, started with a 14" smallie on the first cast of the day. Most were under 10", best was 17".

17" smallie is pretty nice though

I didn't fish but I did notice birds and other critters got really quiet as the moon slid into the final eclipse position. I mean stone cold dead quiet.

        Nice work, Andy!

I had a buddy that fished the Potomac River and he said he got 2 bites all day but also the Potomac has been fishing tough.
