    Week ending May 30, 2010

We have updated our photo page with some of our springtime results and happy clients please take a moment to check it out. We worked hard due to the weather and looking back at the results all the hard work paid off!

    Tidal Potomac River

The topwater action was definitely better this past week from mid river (Mattawoman to Aquia) to down south. Booyah buzzbaits are still my preferred method, but we had a good day with the XCalibur Zell-Pop on Arkendale and Aquia. In the mid river area from Quantico to Occoquan we still did good on Booyah Boogie baits and spinnerbaits. These lures worked really well on incoming water as the water built in over the grass.

    Lake Anna

OA Guide Scott Favors and his clients found bass at Lake Anna beginning their summer patterns. He did very well working main-lake points with a shaky-head and drop shot. The grass in the North Anna is still producing but the fish are pulling back around mid morning to deeper areas just outside the grass. Grassy points and grass beds with deeper drops in front of them worked best. The bass on the Pamunkey munching crankbaits on rocky points above the S-turns.

Really? Is there a better way to catch bass than on a buzzbait!
