    Week ending June 26, 2011

    Tidal Potomac River

The river is producing an amazing number of bass in the 2-pound range. The big fish are biting it seems every other day. The frog bite is more consistent down river versus up river. Down in the Aquia area there is a lot of algae present and making I feel short bite windows. Its also sliming up the grass pretty bad. I'm fishing mostly mid river up (Mattawoman to Broad Creek). I compare the flipping bite this year to the one 3-years ago meaning that its awesome. I'm using a YUM F2 Wooly-Bullee in the Big-O craw color. I've been using a 1/2-ounce XCalibur tungsten weight but getting ready to go up to a 3/4-ounce as the grass thickens; we're already there in some cases. Won't be long and its punch time. Froggin' and Flippin'!
